Temex Resources
Temex Resources Corp. (Temex) is a junior exploration company founded in 2000. It is principally engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of gold properties in the renowned mining region of northeastern Ontario, Canada, one of the richest in the world. In anticipation of the upward demand for precious metals, Temex began acquiring gold projects in 2002 and now holds an impressive portfolio with proven potential.
Temex’s prime asset is the Timmins Gold Project located in the centre of Canada’s largest gold camp, Timmins, Ontario which has seen over 70 million ounces of gold produced from dozens of gold mines. The project is a joint venture with Goldcorp and the property contains several past producing mines including the multi-million ounce Hallnor Mine which was the highest grade mine in the Timmins camp. To date Temex has spent $4 million (CDN) on exploration with results showing considerable promise for the outlining of additional rich veins containing high grade gold, typical of what was mined in the past.
Timmins has substantial existing infrastructure of roads, access, and skilled workers who can get projects moving quickly with several gold mines currently in production and with Goldcorp as a partner Temex knows that the project contains all the necessary experience to bring any orebody into production.
Temex also holds several other gold projects including a 100% ownership in the Juby Gold Project where NI 43-101 Indicated resources stand at 486,000 ounces of gold and a further 186,000 gold ounces in the Inferred resources category, with the project holding 1 million ounce gold potential.
Ian Campbell, President and CEO, with Temex since 2001 and with 28 years of experience in the junior mining sector says, “Gold and silver are the foundation of the Company and we believe that, in this particular sector, a bull market trend will continue based on a combination of supply-and-demand fundamentals and the ongoing currency debasement by governments worldwide”. Bruce Durham, Executive Chairman, has 35 years experience in both senior and junior mining and has been the lead explorer on several significant mining discoveries including the famous Hemlo goldfields in Ontario and also the Bell Creek Mine just north of the Timmins Gold Project and currently owned by Lakeshore Gold Inc.
Financed through equity from a primarily Canadian investor base, Temex recently received $500,000 in financing at $0.30/share; it currently has 79 million shares outstanding. Given the current unstable nature of the world’s financial markets, trade in base and precious metals from Ontario, historically one of the wealthiest mining areas in the world, offers an exciting prospect for Chinese investors.
