Dios Exploration Inc.
Dios Exploration Inc. is a leading research and exploration company based in Montreal and focused on uranium and diamond mining in Central Quebec Province, Canada. Dios has 5,300 mining claims, which cover over 2,750 square kilometers. In 2001 the Dios geological team, which included President and CEO Marie-Jose Girard, was honored with the Quebec Prospector's Award. More recently, along with an important acquisition, Dios has had several promising discoveries on their uranium properties.
Dios has numerous properties with high potential for uranium. For example, Dios’ Upinor Project underwent a detailed radiometric-magnetic survey, which resulted in favorable high uranium/thorium ratios on the discovery area. The results of the survey are encouraging for open-cast, low-cost mining. And its wholly owned Hotish property, located next to Beaver Lake, site of an historical occurrence of 145, 000 tons grading from 0.11-2.46% U3O8, saw six samples returned with grades higher than .33% U308. The sharp increase in U3O8 prices as well as the world demand for uranium as an energy alternative will clearly enhance the uranium potential of the Hotish property. There are six other high-priority sites on the property.
Dios also holds promising diamond properties and a lithium joint venture. The encouraging results of a recent drill sample were announced in the fall of 2009, which confirmed that the Pontax lithium property contains high-grade (2.5 -5.4% Li2O) deposits.
Dios Exploration has recently acquired a series of claims called the Shipshaw property and is preparing to test drill a carbonatite target for strategic metals (niobium, tantalum) and rare earth elements. The test drill site is three kilometers from one of only three major niobium-producing mines. Niobium is used as an alloy in pipeline construction as well as a superconductor magnet for MRI machines. The Shipshaw property is road-accessible and located near needed facilities.
The Dios team is headed by highly experienced geologists. Ms. Girard has more than 30 years’ experience in mineral exploration, particularly in glacial terrains such as the Otish Sedimentary Basin and the Labrador Trough of Quebec. Dominique Doucet, Vice-President, is an equally gifted geologist and has been founder of several other minerals resource companies over the last 20 years.
Dios’ business strategy is to generate exploration projects from the scientific concept to feasibility and develop them either alone or through joint venture.
